The Natural version is the uncoated type of concrete formwork and serves as the basis for all other variants. BetonSchalung Natural is manufactured from high-quality primary-grade spruce and fir timber. It stands out for its excellent quality, ensured through carefully selected raw materials and meticulous in-house regrading. Before the planing process, the timber is technically dried to a wood moisture content of 16% +/- 2%. This significantly reduces the natural swelling and shrinkage behavior of the wood.
BetonSchalung CementPlus is produced through the in-house refinement of BetonSchalung Natural by applying a cement slurry and wax coating.
Natural wood extractives can inhibit the setting of concrete. The specially formulated cement slurry applied at the factory ensures an early reaction between the wood and cement components. This guarantees uniform and reliable concrete setting during subsequent pouring operations.
A high-quality release wax is already applied at the factory. The second layer of release wax is applied on-site to fully develop the release effect and ensure compliance with ZTV-ING standards.
To achieve a higher number of reuse cycles and make BetonSchalung more sustainable, the surface can optionally be enhanced with a plastic coating. This transforms BetonSchalung Natural into BetonSchalung UltraUV.
The UV-cured surface reliably prevents unwanted reactions between concrete and wood extractives — even without additional slurry treatment. At the same time, the formwork retains a slightly absorbent character in line with ZTV-ING requirements, meeting design and regulatory standards.
